Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia, and the fourth-largest city in Australia, with a population of 1,554,769. was founded on 12 June 1829 by Captain James Stirling as the political centre of the free settler Swan River Colony. It has continued to serve as the seat of Government for Western Australia to the present day. The metropolitan area is located in the south west of the continent between the Indian Ocean and a low coastal escarpment known as the Darling Range. The central business district and suburbs of Perth are situated on the Swan River. Perth became known worldwide as the "City of Light," as city residents lit their houselights and streetlights as American astronaut John Glenn passed overhead while orbiting the earth on Friendship 7 in 1962.
"Perth is a really amazing place. I grew up in Canada and surrounded by snow for most of my life so Perth is a breath of fresh air. The weather is always right for what you want to do, whether it be hanging out with some friends or just sitting in a field. The people here are all so laid back and just chill, y'know, none of this rushing to get everywhere. On top of the people being awesome, so are the places. How many places have you been where you can just sit alone in silence and gaze at the stars or have enough space to run around with a few friends? Perth c'est magnifique."

In all this excitement and business sits the Perth Sporting Academy. P.S.A. is where all the sporting hopefuls between the ages of seventeen and twenty one are shipped off to by their parents. Students come from far and wide, a varied background, all over the world. Every day the students there will wake at the crack of dawn to start their training for their scholarship sport, at 8 the classes will begin; the professors teach them the rules of physical fitness and staying fit along with other key skills such as maths, english and science - a few other optional subjects are also available. But the main curriculum is of course, sport; from tennis to soccer, american football to badminton, you name it; they train for it. If it's not a sport then it's not in the school program.
''The actual school itself and the curriculem? I suppose that one way to explain it, or describe it would be to say that it's like a subway station - a variety of people of different ages all huddled together at the crack of dawn, sweating, dehydrating and trying not to fall asleep as the day drags on. Throw in the occasional insomniac and we have a strangely, excellent Sporting Academy. The main focus is sports (no dur) and it can become pretty strenuous at times but with the other lessons on the curriculum you can get a break to rest your feet...sort of."

When school is finished, what have the students got to do? Hardly anything. They can't party because they'll be hung over and unable to train. They can't go off campus because they have a strict curfew. Of course, being teenagers, they will sneak of campus but the price is high. Although they have free will, being caught with drugs or alcohol is a big no-no, it could equal expulsion. You have to be dedicated, determined and sneaky to win here. Some students are breaking the rules, as with any other place, because they know how to cheat the system. Other students are tempted but can’t quite go through with it. The majority of students are training hard and being as good as they can , but how long will that last when you’re a teenager?
"Why are you asking me about student life? It's pretty damn obvious what they get upto isn't it? I mean look at the stoners, it's easy to tell what they get upto off of campus, then look at the nerds, again: it's easy to tell what they get upto. I'd be blunt with you, but I don't think the principle would be very happy with me since I'm not allowed to swear in this little description. But it is pretty self explanitory. You don't want to know what I get upto and neither does anyone else, so why don't you just sit back and watch what people get upto off campus, instead of asking me. "
